Have you ever hit a financial milestone only to realize it didn’t bring the fulfillment you expected?
You’re not alone.
Many entrepreneurs and business owners set income goals—six figures, seven figures, a record-breaking year—only to find themselves feeling stuck, burned out, or asking, “Is this really it?”
But what if you set impact goals instead?
What if your focus wasn’t just on how much you earn, but on who you serve and how you help them?
In my coaching program Design Your Best Life, we talk a lot about success beyond numbers—because real success isn’t just about hitting financial goals. Would it be fair to say that true success is about designing a life where your work has meaning, your time is your own, and your business supports the life you actually want to live?
What’s the Difference?
Income goals measure dollars.
Impact goals measure difference.
👉 How open-minded would you be to tracking how many people you helped this week?
👉 What would it take to measure how much closer your work brought someone to their dream?
👉 Just imagine if you focused more on doing what actually matters—instead of just chasing another deal.
The irony? When you focus on impact, the income follows.
How to Shift from Income to Impact
1️⃣ Define the who before the how
("Would it be fair to say that clarity on your ideal client could change everything?")
Most people start with how they’ll make money. But in Design Your Best Life, I teach that success starts with who—who you serve, who you want to be, and who you need to become to create the impact you want.
Ask yourself:
❓ Who is the person I’m uniquely positioned to help?
❓ What makes me the best person to solve their problem?
2️⃣ Measure your success differently
("How different would your life be if you celebrated impact instead of just income?")
Try tracking:
✔️ How many people you help each week
✔️ The transformations you create
✔️ The opportunities you generate for others
What if the size of your paycheck became the byproduct—not the goal?
3️⃣ Use the right words to create action
("What do you want people to say about you when you’re not in the room?")
The words you choose define the impact you make. In Exactly What to Say, we teach how small shifts in language create massive shifts in results.
Are your words inspiring action, confidence, and clarity—or just selling a product?
👉 "How do you feel about..." instead of "Are you interested?"
👉 "What happens next is..." instead of "Let me know what you think."
👉 "How would it feel if..." instead of "Do you want to?"
Tiny changes. Big impact.
The Income Will Follow
The most profitable businesses are built on trust, reputation, and relationships. Would it be crazy to think that when you make an impact, you naturally build all three—so the income takes care of itself?
So, let me ask you…
What would happen if you focused on impact first?
